Our Pricing Approach at Jurys Law
At Jurys Law, we are committed to transparency and fairness in the way we charge for our legal services. Our fees cover the legal work carried out by our team, as well as any necessary disbursements—these are third-party costs connected to your case, such as barristers’ fees or expert reports. For your convenience, we often pay these disbursements on your behalf and include them in your overall costs.
Experienced Lawyers, Dedicated Support
Your case will be handled by a dedicated solicitor from our litigation team, supported where appropriate by experienced paralegals. From the outset, we will introduce you to your case handler and provide a clear outline of their experience and qualifications.
All cases are supervised by Mohammad Omar, Senior Solicitor, ensuring you benefit from expert oversight throughout the process.
Clear and Fair Fee Structure
Our solicitors usually charge on an hourly or fixed-fee basis, depending on the nature of the matter and any specific funding arrangement agreed. Our current hourly rates are:
-
Partner / Solicitor (8+ years PQE): £500 (£600 incl. VAT at 20%)
-
Solicitor (4+ years PQE): £350 (£420 incl. VAT at 20%)
-
Solicitor (under 4 years PQE): £250 (£300 incl. VAT at 20%)
-
Trainee Solicitor / Paralegal: £150 (£180 incl. VAT at 20%)
Magistrates’ Court – Road Traffic Offences
We aim to be completely transparent in relation to summary motoring offences under Part I of the Road Traffic Act 1988 and Section 89 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. These include offences such as driving without insurance, driving whilst disqualified, careless driving, and failing to stop or report an accident.
Typical fees for these cases are:
-
Early guilty plea: £500 (£600 incl. VAT)
-
Trial representation: £1,200 (£1,440 incl. VAT)
Please note that costs may vary depending on case complexities, such as the need for expert evidence, witness statements, special reasons hearings, or appeals.
Trial Costs and Case Complexity
We generally offer fixed fees for trial work. However, should your case involve additional complexity or proceed to appeal, further costs may be incurred. The overall cost will also depend on the number of court sitting days required.
Disbursements (Additional Costs)
In addition to our fees, you may need to pay disbursements. These could include expert reports, medical records, or witness expenses. We will provide a tailored cost estimate before incurring any such expenses on your behalf.
What Our Fees Cover
Our pricing includes the key stages of Magistrates’ Court traffic matters, such as:
-
Advising you on options and legal strategy
-
Guidance on relevant law and procedure
-
Assessing the strength of your case and possible defences
-
Reviewing and analysing the evidence
-
Advising on likely sentencing outcomes
-
Preparing for and attending court hearings
-
Follow-up advice on the outcome (appeals may incur additional fees)
Case Timelines
Please note that court timetables are outside our control and hearing dates can vary considerably. As such, we are unable to guarantee exact timescales for when your matter will be heard.
